- Paul Prudhomme-Style Blackened Steak

- Bread Pudding (with rum sauce, the best 100 year-old family recipe!)

- Cajun Red Beans and Rice

"We do some cooking in dis’ class cher!” Learn how to make some of the all time Cajun classics such as shrimp etouffee, gumbo, and blackened steak. We’ll also learn how to make real Louisiana bread pudding with a kickin’ rum sauce! Learn from a REAL cajun!

Dinner Party classes are more social in nature, though you'll still learning how to cook and prepare awesome food!

You get to work in groups, allowing for plenty of time to cook, eat, drink, and meet new friends. The class is hands-on, with each cooking station getting to make every dish, unless the dessert is something requiring preparation ahead.

We're BYOB, but we have great wine and unique beers for sale - some you can't find anywhere else in Houston! There is no corking fee if you choose to bring your beverage(s) of choice. We provide aprons, bottled water, wine glasses, water/beer glasses, ice, and bottle openers. Come hungry because there is plenty of food!

Fun but know what to expect

As an FYI, all mise en place (prep work, knife work, etc) is done for you. This could be a plus or minus depending on your preference. We missed chopping and measuring but you may like skipping that. We couldn’t find that detail on the website but the Chef leading our class indicated that is the norm for Well Done.

Each couple is at a station with another couple. We had two experienced home cooks (similar to ourselves) so we had a good time and didn’t mind if we got behind the rest of the class to wait to get the deep color in the roux, etc.
